Milkweed Girl III Original
The Milkweed Girl Series is my anthropomorphic take on the relationship between the milkweed plant and the monarch butterfly. The milkweed plant is the sole provider for butterflies across their entire life cycle, yet are often cast away as unimportant weeds.
The third portrait in this series features a woman with a slightly outstretched hand and a light gaze toward the viewer as the butterflies land on her head, hands, and shoulders.
24x36 acrylic and oil pastel on canvas. Comes framed in a dark floater frame.
