Milkweed Girl II Orignial
The Milkweed Girl Series is my anthropomorphic take on the relationship between the milkweed plant and the monarch butterfly. The milkweed plant is the sole provider for butterflies across their entire life cycle, yet are often cast away as unimportant weeds.
The second portrait in this series is a woman with tired yet soulful eyes, peering into the viewer with resolute strength while the monarchs start to consume her.
24x36 Acrylic and oil pastel on canvas original. Comes framed in a dark floater frame.
